FAQs

  • Coaching is a proven method to get you, the client, to get better at whatever it is you are being coached on. I don’t so much teach you leadership or strategic planning as help you do it better. Professional coaches don’t teach professional ballplayers how to play–they teach them how to play better–Pat Riley didn’t teach Michael Jordan how to shoot and dribble. He motivated, challenged, and set the conditions for him to shoot and dribble better.

  • Absolutely not. Strategic planning is for any organization, big or small, that has goals, a mission, something they have to do. Whether you’re a nonprofit, school, business, or professional organization, you can do strategic planning from framing the problem you want to solve all the way to achieving your mission. If nothing else, strategic planning will help you understand better what you are up against getting after your business.

  • Not at all. Any company, business, organization, group–no matter how small or large–is the perfect size for strategic planning. Any organization with a mission or a product or a service to sell needs some kind of planning, and strategic planning is a great place to start. Knowing where you are and where you want to be in a year or more is good for any company, and it’s good to know the problem you and your team are trying to solve–that’s the place any good plan starts.
